    Irish Dance

    Myra is from Dublin, Ireland and studied Irish dance for many years with Terry Gillan, Philip Owens, Elaine Kavanagh and Ann Murphy.

    She competed internationally and became a World champion (Dance Drama) and a World medalist (Ceilis & Solos).

    Myra then went on to a professional Irish Dance career, performing with Tempest Rhythm, Clasac, and Waves with Liam Harney, among many other Irish dance shows. 

     

    Her performing career culminated in several world tours with Michael Flatley's Lord of the Dance and Feet of flames. She rose to the position of Dance Captain in both shows. 

    Myra starred in the 1999 presentation of Lord of the Dance in Epcot, Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida.

    In 2001, Myra relocated to Orlando, Florida and established the Watters School of Irish Dancing. The school has won three World Championship titles, five National titles, and countless regional titles. 

     

    Myra is also an active volunteer for numerous Irish dance bodies and has been an elected official on the Southern Region board (IDTANA-SR), the National board (IDTANA) and the Worldwide Irish dance commission (CLRG).

     

    She has also chaired many competitive events, such as the North American Irish Dance Championships, Southern Region Oireachtas and the Orlando Feis.

     

    Myra is an accredited Irish dance teacher, adjudicator and grade examiner, registered with An Coimisiun le Rinci Gaelacha, and judges regularly on the  

    International Irish dance competitive circuit.
